IN THE PINK

Box Elder is almost an unknown rare, wood -grows along rivers and streams, really not used for anything.

What it does have is an unusual PINK color which can vary from bright pink, almost red, to a light pink, even a tan-pink. We obtained a small quantity and made some carvings from it. One of them was purchased and ended up being the top AWARD for the Dragon Race on White River last summer.

These are teams of canoe racers who are Breast Cancer Survivors. Who would have thought that a relatively unknown wood could become a highly valued trophy for the winner of the race.
