A Brief Word

Access Security was founded in November 1983 by Karl von Lipsey after a thirty-six year career as a Criminal Investigator with the U.S. Treasury Department, and as a Homicide Detective with the Philadelphia Police Department. Mr. von Lipsey has had a long and distinguished career in various facets of law enforcement and criminal investigation, including white collar, financial and economic crimes, as well as investigations of organized crime activity throughout the United States. In addition, Mr. von Lipsey is well known to have been one of the leading electronics and countermeasure experts while serving with the U. S. Treasury Department.

In January 1984, Mr. von Lipsey was joined by his son, Karl, Jr., who had a background in Industrial Security and Accident Investigations with an international motor freight carrier. Karl, Jr., a Certified Fraud Investigator (CFI) and Certified Polygraph Examiner (CPE) has over fifteen years experience in Industrial Security, and ten years of various Insurance and Fraud Investigations; he is also well known and recognized as an expert in Accident Investigation and Polygraph Examinations. In addition, he was able to bring to the company various investigative techniques in conducting Background Investigations for insurance companies and commercial businesses.

Access Security Agency, Inc., is a Pennsylvania corporation, and licensed Private Detective agency in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The company principals are well known and active members of National Association of Legal Investigators, the National Association of Insurance Claims Investigators, the American Society of Industrial Security, the American Polygraph Association, the Southeastern PA Police Chiefs Association, and the International Police Association.

In 1983, Access Security Agency opened its business at 1420 Walnut Street in Philadelphia. The company was incorporated in January 1984. In 1988, the company consolidated its offices and operations at the Benjamin Fox Pavilion in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. In September 1993, needing additional office space, the company moved to its present headquarters at the Executive Plaza in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

In January 1989, Karl von Lipsey Sr., announced his retirement, and passed control of the company to his son, Karl, Jr., currently President and CEO; however, Karl Sr. remains as a consultant for special investigations. Company staff at the present time consists of several, full-time, highly trained investigators who provide specialized support services, i.e., Casualty and Workmen Compensation claims investigation and video documentation, Computer Database and Information Services, Background Investigations, and Industrial Accident Investigations.
