The World’s Coolest Walking Sticks I have been interested in folk canes and walking sticks as works of art for many years and have several early examples.
During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries a large part of the male population carried walking sticks. They were
a required accessory to a man’s fashionable attire and were both badges of authority and prestige as well as status
symbols, and could be used as weapons if needed. As America returns to walking once again as a healthful national pastime, so have handcrafted personal walking sticks
returned as a useful art form. My walking sticks make quite a fashion statement as well as being a comfortable extension of
your arm. They soon become “like an old friend” to go on walks with you. Like many of the earlier sticks, mine are both beautiful and functional, carved from unusual pieces of fancy hardwood.
These rare pieces of wood are hard to find and even harder to carve and sand. It is a labor of love and I enjoy making them.
The beauty of these carvings is a combination of the wood and the craftsmanship. Their trademark is a wonderful carved twist
in the wood that ends up at the top where your hand fits. We have sold several to people that really do need the extra support, but do not want to walk with a cane, so these are
the perfect answer. When you walk with one of these sticks, you will be “Stylin”. Twisted Sticks – All have been burnished, and stained with our own custom made stains, then finished with a tough
durable finish, each with a tapered brass tip. Any of the walking sticks can have a lanyard added for extra support for your wrist and to help keep you from dropping your stick. Length 40-41 inches. If you have your own personal medal, favorite coin, or medallion that you would like to have set into your own custom walking stick, call 1-800-387-3831. | ||
